My Name is Peter Bodem and I am a young history enthusiast.

My goal is to provide well researched and bias-free articles while being transparent about my sources.

I always had an interest in human history, especially antiquity and early medieval times.

When I started being interested into historical reenactment and began collecting equiment to enact a historically accurate wealthy viking, I learned a lot about researching and questioning sources. The early medieval period is a matter of heated debates and statements that contradict each other. I had to learn how to identify trustworthy sources in order to assemble a historically accurate kit.

But due to the lack of hard evidence from early medieval europe I quickly learned that also the trustworthy sources don't agree with each other, because many details are a matter of interpretation.

This all lead to me gaining the motivation to make this blog. I want to present an alternative to established historians and mainstream media. If we leave history only to "professionals", we give them the power to tell us anything.
